Hi there! Welcome. I’m a born and raised Cali girl who moved to the Mid-West in July of 2015. Together with my Jamaican hubby whom I met at Berkeley in the 90’s, I am raising 3 multi-racial (JaMexican) kids in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to writing this blog and parenting, I also work as a non-profit fundraising consultant. My passions include women’s issues, girl power, social justice, multi-racial, homeless/food bank, education and the arts.

As the oldest of 5 girls and from a large Mexican-American family, I enjoy writing about my childhood and the many experiences and characters that were a part of that time.

Since moving to the Mid-West, I have found myself drawn into listening to other people’s stories and learning about whatever journey they might be on.

I think a million little journeys make up a person’s lifetime and my desire is for this space to encourage you along your own journey whatever that might be.

Come back and visit often!

Liz

    1. Oh! Forgot! Thanks for the follow. Congrats on the three kiddos, too. Our daughter Stefanie Kavitha is from Bangalore, India. It’s interesting raising kids from other cultures and trying to keep their cultures alive for them. It’s an important job.

      1. Don’t know what your interests are, but have you ever heard of the Shoah Foundation? (https://sfi.usc.edu/about) It’s about listening to and documenting stories of Holocaust survivors. I believe Steven Spielberg had something to do with getting it off the ground. If I was young enough to start a new career, it would be working in something like that. I’m fascinated with WWII history.
